Description

Toasty Campfire Cookies are warm, gooey dessert sandwiches made with oatmeal cookies, melted white and milk chocolate, and toasted marshmallows. Perfect for campfire gatherings or a cozy treat, these cookies combine creamy chocolate and melty marshmallows for a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 5 (1 ounce) squares chopped white chocolate
  • 20 oatmeal cookies
  • 1 (1.55 ounce) bar milk chocolate candy
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Prepare White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler until smooth and spreadable. Evenly spread the melted white chocolate over the bottom side of 10 of the oatmeal cookies.
  2. Assemble Cookies: Break the milk chocolate bar into 10 equal pieces. Place one piece of milk chocolate onto the white chocolate-covered side of each of the 10 cookies.
  3. Add Marshmallows: Top the milk chocolate pieces with a generous amount of miniature marshmallows on each cookie.
  4. Create Sandwiches: Place the remaining 10 oatmeal cookies on top of the marshmallow-topped cookies, pressing gently to form cookie sandwiches with chocolate and marshmallows inside.
  5. Toast Cookies: Using tongs, carefully hold the cookie sandwiches over a campfire or on a stovetop flame. Toast them for about 3 minutes until the marshmallows and chocolate are melted and gooey, rotating as needed for even heating.
  6. Serve: Remove the toasted cookies from the heat and enjoy immediately while warm and gooey for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use tongs or a roasting stick when toasting cookies to avoid burns.
  • If you don’t have a campfire, the stovetop works well for toasting these cookie sandwiches safely.
  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to the white chocolate before spreading.
  • Make sure the white chocolate is fully melted and smooth for easy spreading.
  • These cookies are best enjoyed immediately after toasting for optimal gooey texture.
