Instructions
- Prepare the pan: Grease a 9″x13″ baking tray with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the treats.
- Melt butter: Place a large pot on low heat and melt the ½ cup of butter gently without browning.
- Add chocolate chips: Stir in the ½ cup of milk chocolate chips, mixing continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Mix in hot chocolate powder: Add the ½ cup of hot chocolate mix and stir thoroughly until fully combined with the melted butter and chocolate.
- Melt marshmallows: Add the entire bag of large marshmallows and stir continuously on low heat until they are completely melted into a glossy mixture, ensuring an even melt.
- Add Rice Krispies cereal: Remove the pot from heat and pour in the 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Use a spatula or wooden spoon coated with cooking spray to gently fold and mix until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Incorporate mini marshmallows: Stir in the â…“ cup of mini marshmallows gently. Some will melt slightly while others stay whole, adding texture and variety.
- Spread mixture: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out into an even layer without pressing too firmly, to maintain a light texture.
- Decorate toppings: Sprinkle the top with mini marshmallows, chocolate sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, dehydrated marshmallows, crushed candy canes, or your favorite candies. Press gently to help them adhere.
- Cool and serve: Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes until set. Slice into 18 to 24 squares and enjoy!
