Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings
- 12-14 whole chicken wings or 24 party wings, wingette and drumette separated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Thinly sliced green onion for garnish
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1 orange, juiced (about 1/3 cup orange juice)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, and cornstarch. Heat the mixture over medium heat and bring it to a simmer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens to a glossy consistency. Be careful to stir often to avoid burning. Once thickened, remove from heat and set aside.
- Grill the Chicken Wings: Season the separated chicken wings with salt and pepper evenly. Preheat your grill to medium heat and brush the grill grates lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Place the wings on the grill and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping occasionally to ensure even cooking and char. Grill until the internal temperature of the wings reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Finish and Serve: Remove the cooked wings from the grill and immediately toss them in the prepared honey garlic sauce until evenly coated. Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with thinly sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Be sure to monitor the wings closely while grilling to avoid burning due to the sugar content in the sauce.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can also broil the wings in the oven, turning them halfway through cooking.
- To make a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce while cooking.
- Leftover wings can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure wings are cooked properly and safe to eat.
