Description

Enjoy a refreshing and healthy treat with these Fresh Pineapple Strawberry Swirled Slushies. Blended from frozen pineapple chunks and strawberries, this vibrant beverage is naturally sweetened with honey and sugar (optional) and brightened with lime juice for a perfect summer drink. Easy to make and visually stunning with its swirled layers, it’s ideal for cooling down on warm days or serving at gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Pineapple Mixture

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Juice of 1/2 lime

Strawberry Mixture

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Blend the Pineapple Mixture: In a blender, combine the frozen pineapple chunks, honey if using, juice of half a lime, and 1/2 cup of cold water. Blend until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy consistency. Pour this mixture into a large measuring cup or bowl and set it aside.
  2. Blend the Strawberry Mixture: Rinse out the blender to avoid flavor mixing. Add the frozen strawberries, sugar if using, and the remaining 1/2 cup of cold water to the blender. Blend until smooth and slushy.
  3. Create the Swirl Effect and Serve: To assemble, alternate pouring spoonfuls or layers of the pineapple and strawberry mixtures into serving glasses. This layering creates a beautiful swirled effect. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon to enjoy the refreshing textures and flavors.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness based on the ripeness of your fruit to suit your taste preferences.
  • For an extra tropical twist, add a few fresh mint leaves or a splash of coconut water into the blends.
  • These slushies are best served fresh but can be prepared ahead and re-blended before serving to refresh the texture.
