Main Ingredients
- 1 bag of tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked and seasoned ground beef or turkey
Toppings
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapenos (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Dips
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1/4 cup guacamole
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the nachos.
- Arrange chips: Spread the tortilla chips out in a single even layer on a baking sheet to allow for uniform melting and toppings distribution.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tortilla chips, ensuring each chip gets some cheese coverage.
- Add toppings: Top the cheese-covered chips with cooked and seasoned ground beef or turkey, diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, diced red onion, and sliced jalapenos if you like some heat.
- Bake nachos: Place the loaded baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese has fully melted and is bubbly.
- Add cilantro: Once out of the oven, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the hot nachos for a fresh burst of flavor.
- Serve: Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use cooked and well-seasoned ground beef or turkey to add flavor.
- Feel free to omit jalapenos if you want a milder dish.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add black beans or extra veggies.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the nachos crispy and warm before the chips get soggy.
- You can also customize with other toppings like corn, jalapenos, or diced bell peppers.
