Description

These Buffalo Chicken Sliders are a flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer or meal, featuring tender shredded chicken tossed in spicy buffalo sauce, melted cheese, and soft slider buns. Enhanced with ranch or blue cheese dressing and optional fresh toppings, these sliders provide a perfect combination of spicy, creamy, and crunchy textures in a handheld bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Buffalo Chicken Mixture

  • 2-3 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)

Slider Assembly

  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work great)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Toppings and Garnishes

  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing (for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced pickles
  • Thinly sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken with the buffalo sauce. Mix thoroughly until every piece of chicken is evenly coated with the spicy sauce, ensuring a consistent buffalo flavor throughout.
  2. Assemble the Sliders: Slice each slider bun in half horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over these bottoms, then sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chicken layer. Place the top halves of the buns gently on top of the cheese-covered chicken.
  3. Bake the Sliders: Lightly cover the baking dish loosely with foil to avoid drying out the sliders. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown, creating a warm, melty, and slightly toasted slider.
  4. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and drizzle ranch or blue cheese dressing over the sliders as desired. Add optional fresh toppings such as lettuce, sliced pickles, and thinly sliced red onions for added crunch and flavor. Garnish with chopped parsley if using and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut, but leftover cooked chicken can be used as well.
  • Adjust buffalo sauce quantity to control the heat level to your preference.
  • Use of foil when baking prevents the buns from drying out and helps melt the cheese evenly.
  • Optional toppings add freshness and texture but can be omitted or substituted based on preference.
  • For extra richness, brush the buns with melted butter before assembly or baking.
