Ingredients
Scale
Avocado Spread
- 1 ripe avocado
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Sea salt, to taste
- Cracked black pepper, to taste
Main Ingredients
- 2 bagels (your choice)
- 4 slices streaky bacon
- 100g halloumi, sliced
- 2 eggs
- Fresh chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Bacon and Halloumi: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the streaky bacon until it becomes crispy. Add the halloumi slices and cook until they are golden brown on both sides. Remove both the bacon and halloumi from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Avocado: In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado until creamy. Mix in the lemon juice, red pepper flakes, sea salt, and cracked black pepper until well combined.
- Assemble Bagel: Spread the mashed avocado evenly on the bottom half of each bagel. Layer the crispy bacon and golden halloumi slices on top of the avocado spread.
- Make Egg in the Hole: Carefully crack one egg into the hole of each assembled bagel, ensuring the egg stays within the bagel’s center hole.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 190°C (375°F). Place the bagels with eggs into the air fryer basket and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the egg is set to your preferred doneness.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove the bagels from the air fryer, garnish with fresh chives, and enjoy your savory breakfast treat!
Notes
- You can adjust the cooking time in the air fryer depending on how runny or firm you prefer your eggs.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can finish the assembled bagels in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 7-10 minutes.
- Feel free to substitute halloumi with another firm cheese if preferred.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
