Description

These Air Fryer Jalapeno Popper Bites are a deliciously spicy and cheesy appetizer, featuring a creamy filling of cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, and jalapeños wrapped inside crispy crescent roll dough. Perfect for game day or casual snacking, they cook quickly in the air fryer to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2–3 jalapeños (seeded and finely chopped)

Dough

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough

Other

  • Olive oil spray
  • Optional: extra shredded cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon bits, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and finely chopped jalapeños. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Shape the dough: Unroll the crescent roll or biscuit dough and cut it into squares or circles approximately 2 inches wide, creating individual pieces to hold the filling.
  3. Fill and seal bites: Place about 1 teaspoon of the prepared filling in the center of each dough piece. Fold or pinch the dough edges together carefully to seal the filling inside, forming small balls or bite-sized parcels.
  4. Prepare air fryer basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking and promote crispiness during cooking.
  5. Air fry the bites: Arrange the filled dough bites in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is space between each for even cooking. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6–8 minutes or until the bites appear golden brown and crisp.
  6. Cool and serve: Once cooked, remove the bites from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set and avoid burns.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon bits.
  • These bites can be made ahead of time and frozen before air frying; if cooking from frozen, add an extra 2–3 minutes to the air frying time.
