Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Fries made with russet potatoes, seasoned with garlic and Parmesan cheese for a delicious twist on classic fries. Perfect as a snack or side dish, these fries are easy to prepare and cooked to perfection using an air fryer for a healthier, guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries

Seasoning & Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel the potatoes if desired and cut them into fry shapes. Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps in achieving crispier fries. After soaking, drain thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels to remove any moisture.
  2. Season the Fries: In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried fries with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss well to ensure every fry is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  4. Cook the Fries: Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer inside the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning. The fries should be golden brown and crispy when done.
  5. Toss in Parmesan and Serve: Immediately transfer the hot fries into a bowl and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over them. Toss gently so the cheese melts slightly and coats the fries. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if using.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Serve the garlic Parmesan fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup, ranch, or aioli for a perfect snack or side dish experience.

Notes

  • Soaking the fries in cold water is key for crispy fries as it removes excess starch.
  • Make sure fries are dried completely before seasoning to prevent sogginess.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cook fries in batches for best results.
  • Use fresh garlic and fresh Parmesan for the best flavor impact.
  • Optional parsley garnish adds freshness and color but can be omitted if preferred.
